“LET THERE BE LIGHT”

 

Supreme Assembly took place in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel from June 28th to July 1st , 2009.

 

Attending from Ontario were H.L. Lillian Worton, S.K. John Worton, H.L. Lynn Maxwell, H.L. Marion Boyle, H.L. Margaret Peacock, S.K. Tom Lloyd, H.L. Margaret Bessler, S.K. Eric Bessler, H.L. Donna Ozol Lyons, H.L. Gert Bowen, H.L. Grace Howard, H.L. Jan Eperson.

 

H.L. Monya Boggs, Supreme Royal Matron and S.K. Roger Williams did a wonderful job, with business being conducted efficiently and the Elections expeditiously.

The Memorial Ceremony and Necrology were conducted with great dignity and our Ontario delegates and members paid tribute to our Past Grand Royal Matrons and Past Grand Royal Patrons, who had passed away – H.L. Anne Baker, H.L. Evelyn White and S.K. Jerry Peckford.

 

H.L. Barbara Lee Overton was elected Supreme Royal Matron and S.K. Dwight Cosgrove Supreme Royal Patron. Their enthusiasm and dynamic leadership will no doubt bring new energy to our Order.

Our own H.L. Lillian Worton advanced to the station of Supreme Conductress, just a couple of steps away from the ultimate position of Supreme Royal Matron. At the reception held on Thursday evening , July 2nd, 2009, honouring H.L. Barbara Lee and S.K. Dwight, H.L. Lillian had the privilege of announcing her choice of Supreme Associate Patron – S.K. J.D.Hammett of New Mexico and California.

 

The Installation of Supreme Officers was impressive, with S.K. Roger Williams as the Supreme Installing Officer, S.K. Robert Brekenridge II, Assistant Installing Officer,

H.L. Peggy Rudd as Supreme Marshal and S.K. Claude Rudd as Aide to the Supreme Marshal

 

The highlight was the announcement  that the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation Inc. elected their first International President – H.L. Lynn Maxwell of Ontario, Canada. The Board of Directors of the Foundation were unanimous in their choice of H.L. Lynn, no doubt recognizing her superb organizational skills, business acumen  and ability to bring cohesiveness and harmony in group situations.

 

Ontario was also favoured with the appointments of 22 Deputy Supreme Royal Matrons and Deputy Supreme Royal Patrons and to the following Committees:
